[color:"blue"]Of course! .50 Cal!!!

I must admit it has been a long while since I have shot a .50 cal. I am partial to .45s (Colt-modified, H&K, and SIGs) and .40 Cal. (.38s and .357s are fun as well). Of course, there is the 9mm which is a very effective round as well. I shot a friend's (Secret Service) MP5 last year and he carries a 9mm H&K as well. Of course, it makes sense if you are carrying two weapons to carry them in the same caliber. It really all comes down to shot placement though, no matter what round one would decide upon. Training, training, training is the course of the day for anyone who owns a weapon. Being responsible not only about your weapon and its functionality, but also knowledgeable of when one should and can morally use one are fundamentals in gun ownership as well. And YES, keep them out of reach of children.

Of course, one should always obey the laws of the State the live in as well. I have a friend who lives in Marydel, DE and one half of his property is in Delaware and the other part in Maryland. They have different laws in each state.

Maybe one day we will have some BETTER national guidelines for gun ownership, including mandatory training and re-training in several facets of weaponry ownership. I won't hold my breath though. And there are pluses and minuses to that issue as well.
