As many of you know, my church (First Pres in Biloxi) is located across the boulevard from the beach. Except for the day before the hurricane, we've been able to meet every Sunday since. Plus the fellowship hall at the church was used for a supply store for the community for 6-7 weeks, and we are still housing work crews coming down to help.

This week they finally opened up the beach road for normal traffic. Before we had been getting to the church through back ways. Today, as I took the road home it really struck me in that we are practically the only building along the road still usable. What a terrific praise for our Lord Jesus Christ Almighty.

Sure, we have damage to the church, but it is still functional. I'm beginning to like cement floors, sitting in pews that need varnishing, along with other visible signs of the storm. Maybe we should keep it that way.
