I. What Presbyterians really mean by “Original Sin,” “Total Depravity,” and “Inability of Will.”
WCF 9.3, “Man, by his fall into a state of sin, hath wholly lost all ability of will to any spiritual good accompanying salvation; so as a natural man being altogether averse from that good, and dead in sin, is not able, by his own strength, to convert himself, or to prepare himself thereunto.” Although the subject matter of this month's "Article of the Month" may seem redundant to some it certainly would be worthwhile to read. The explanations and illustrations of the topic of "Total Depravity" will never exhaust the depth of the affects of it. And, one would be remiss if Robert Dabney was shunned. His writings are always scintillating. His starting point is the ninth chapter of the Westminster Confession of Faith, article 3 from which he brings sound reasoning from Scripture and vivid illustrations and examples of how this doctrine is seen in everyday life. After reading this article, perhaps you would like to discuss, add to or even disagree with Dabney here on the Discussion Board. ![[Linked Image]](http://the-highway.com/Smileys/Ponder.gif) Read this month's article here: Total DepravityOr, for later reading, go to The Highway homepage and click on the "Article of the Month" logo. In His service and grace,
simul iustus et peccator
