Although Mr. Riddleberger is faithful in expounding upon this and the following article of the Belgic Confession, the Confession's truthfulness to Scripture must be called into question in two areas:

1. Church government, i.e., is there sufficient evidence in Scripture to warrant the view that the Bible clearly teaches only one form of church government?
2. The offices of the Church, i.e., does Scripture clearly teach that the office of Elder is to be understood as being two; Minister and Elder or only one; Elder?
