Interesting statistics, assuming they are factually true about the "Prince of Preachers". I tend to read most if not all of the comments of such postings. Sometimes they are more interesting than the actual article. And they definitely provide insightful information as to the readers. The first comment I thought was most salient and spiritually 'tuned', vs. most of the others which seemed to be written by Spurgeon 'groupies'. Here is the comment:

Quote
Spurgeon worked 18 hours a day, read 6 books a week, and preached 10 times a week. Although I admire how the Lord used this man, I wonder with a busy life like his what things were neglected. What about his wife and kids. I don’t think the fact that they also entered into ministry proves he spent much time with them. When I read articles like these, it is enough to make any pastor feel inadequate and his ministry as insignificant. Praise the Lord for the men that will never have articles written about them, yet they are faithful preachers, pastors, husbands, and fathers. A preacher once said concerning Spurgeon, “Even the best of men are men at best.” I thank God for Spurgeon, but he was just a man. To God alone be the glory!
