Tom, I have been unable to find anything that would support the claim that it is illegal to store up more than 2 weeks of non-perishable food. The only thing I could find that was remotely related is the current administration's policy concerning the identity of possible terrorists. One of the identifying marks of a possible terrorist is that a person has more than a week's worth of food in storage. Do you think I am kidding? Well, this is mentioned on the Senate floor during a debate concerning an amendment to a proposed Defense bill. Watch the video HERE. IF there was such a bill that made it illegal to store 2+ weeks of food, the cost involved to enforce it would be no constraint to the current US government. Their unbridled spending is infamous and the national debt increases daily and without impunity. There is currently no universal law requiring gun registration in the US. Any attempt to introduce such a law would be met with overwhelming resistance and fail. Alan Rock tried that in Canada and even there it failed miserably and at a great cost as well.
