Written by a friend, Bud Powell, who is no longer with us, as he died last summer. His words however, impressed me today, four years after he wrote them.

Matthew 27:36 And sitting down they watched him there....

Beloved Christian friend. Do not lament the battle. It was a good one. God has not promised that we will have an easy time in this world. One thing that has comforted me through the years is this:

Satan's kingdom is at its most vulnerable when it is strong and spreading its wings abroad and the godly are weak and helpless. It is then that the church digs deeper into her faith and finds that Rock which is her refuge. Our trust has always been in the Lord our God, for cursed is he that puts his trust in men. Our enemies do not know the source of our strength and rejoice over earthly victories and mock the righteous. But the word of God stands forever:

I thank the Lord for the great many righteous and godly men and women who stood shoulder to shoulder against the great evil that is coming over our land. Thank God for their discernment and wisdom.

32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. Psalm 37 in its entirety.

We weep for the many who perished under the evils of socialism in all its forms in our lifetime: Hitler, Mussolini, the USSR, North Korea, etc. But the Lord chose to put His children through the fires of tribulation before taking them to glory. It also appears that there will be much weeping in the days to come, but God is faithful, and sifts the harvest that the chaff might be blown away.

The wicked He removed for He only gives them a certain time to do their nasties. The godless do not like to hear this message for they, like the rich fool, do not know their times.

I understand now, the old and godly men and women I knew as a boy who mourned the evils of FDR and mourned for the future of America. Truly the sins of the fathers are visited upon the children to the third and fourth generation.

Pr 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
Pr 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
Pr 30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
Pr 30:14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. Proverbs 30.
