I have a question that stems from a recent conversation with a good friend who visited me.
He told me that he could never in good conscience ever be a member of a Church again.
He went onto to say that it is because he has never seen a Church statement of faith that he can agree with 100%.
He quoted Scripture that said. "Let your no be no and your yes and your no be no." (Matt.5:37)
He went onto say that because of this he does not believe covenants are biblical to sign. He gave an example of TWU (Trinity Western University) making people sign a covenant in order to attend or teach there, no matter how biblical it is.
It kind of shocked me to hear these things from him. Understand in the case of TWU, it isn't that he doesn't agree with anything written in the Covenant (he does) but he does not believe something like that should be signed by a Christian.

Thoughts?
I expect in the future that conversation may come up again and I want to be able to give him a biblical answer.
