Act 1:6
Quote
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?

This indicates that the Disciples believed that Jesus was going to physically restore to its former glory, the kingdom of Israel. This is also a go to part of Scripture, used by Dispensationalists to try to show that God will one day restore to its former glory the kingdom of Israel.

In verses 7-8 of course Jesus gives them a mild rebuke, but uses the occasion to focus on the great commission after they have received power to be His witnesses though-out the whole earth. This showing the Kingdom of God is extended to not just Israel, but to all the world in Christ.

With out going more detail here. Would I be correct to say that the Disciple's question was too narrow in scope? That the fulfillment of the OT prophecy will actually be fulfilled not in the the physical restoration of the kingdom of Israel, but in the New Heavens and the New Earth?

Please explain.
