Yes indeed, a real treat to be greeted by a solid biblical sermon from the "Prince of Preachers"; Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Not much has changed from when this sermon was preached in 1885. One new day follows another. Evil abounds and joy is experienced from time to time across the globe by its inhabitants. Children are born and some reach their end of life whether unexpected early or at long years later. But one thing none of these things we see and experience is under are complete control. However, the sovereign Lord of Heaven and Earth by His divine providence brings all things to pass according to his determinate council and foreknowledge. It is this which Spurgeon would bring our attention; God says, "I make all things new." Yes, every nano second that comes to pass is of God and ALL is to bring glory to His name...and to bring great joy to those whom He pours out His mercy and grace. How? is that true, you might ask. Well, the answer is that the Lord God brings new life from that which was dead. He makes the dead raise to newness of life. Yes, to those of us who have experienced this miraculous power of grace, we who are new creatures in Christ know in our innermost beings the greatness of His power and the love shed upon us in being brought to Christ by the Spirit. And, we know at least in part, the newness of life even now as we continue to live out our lives on this earth in eager anticipation for that which is to come, the New Heaven and New Earth and our glorification.

So Spurgeon stresses the origin of all things "new" and beckons all who are yet dead to seek Him Who is able to "make all things new" and receive the One Who created all things, The LORD Christ, for in Him and Him alone is the source of that which is new, good, pure, holy, hope, joy and an eternity of bliss when we are reconciled to the Living God Who said, "Matthew 11:27-30 (KJV) 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him]. 28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light."
