I believe the Second Ammendment to our Constitution "The Right To Bear Arms" is an important freedom.

Amen. I believe that's why it's so high in the list of the Bill of Rights (i.e. the 2nd Amendment instead of the 10th). You know that was one of the foremost items on the minds of the Founding Fathers.

WOW! That's a great photo Johnny. As they say "a picture is worth a thousand words." Seeing you sit on the throne in one of Saddam Hussain's palaces with your rifle across your lap symbolizes a change in government for sure. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applause.gif" alt="" />

Please! A cheap Chinese made shield? A good English bow of yew and a clothyard shaft is more than a match for a Wally World shield. I tell you it makes me want to watch Robin Hood again. [Linked Image] (Not the Kevin Costner version either)

You should not insult the borg by saying Hillirary Sodom Clinton is a borg.

I don't know but I think that if someone could manufacture a real hollogram of Johnnie Burgess in that palace with his gun, it would discourage many a perpetrator. NO? Sort of like the one in the Wizard of Oz?

Otherwise, a good James Bond .380 might do. Of course, one would not want to cross the border, to the south of NH and go into MA or CT without paying big bucks to the state for the privilege of self protection. You can't even take pepper spray into MA without a $100 gun license and then into CT without a $200 gun license.

This is not related specificalIy to the prior discussions except for the overall topic. I found "The Christian's Guide to Small Arms" to be interesting:

See what you think.

I am deadly serious, (pun intended) does anyone wonder what would happen to Americans if all (criminals and politicians) were certain that there were no guns in our homes?

Truth and liberty in our world must be defended. Anyone who thinks differently does not know "the nature of the beast". He (the beast) must first disarm, to have his way.

Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. (Eph. 6:11)

IMO, the full armor of God is not only a spiritual command but calls us to action and faithful courage in the temporal.
Personally I am sick of those that believe our world may be pacified and made blissful by a "unity" of strong and centralized leaders.

The very center of the Scripture says this, and I believe, of course, for good reason.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord, than to trust in princes. (Psalm 118:9)

My politically incorrect advice to anyone who is capable, is to learn how to "perfectly" use a "06", 30-30, M-16 (223), M-14 (308), M-1 (30.06) or S&W 40.

Shooting is an important tradition in America to be sure. Ask Cornwallis, Santa Anna, and other more recent unmentionables. Guns are tools, however, and should be used properly, though they often aren't.

Theo,

Thanks for posting that link. It gives a good background on the right to bear arms issue namely to provide for the common defense of the people. It also provides the historical precedence for a Christian militia.

As the Bill of Rights says, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
