With which of the following statements are you in greater agreement? 1. “Every day people are straying away from the church and going back to God.” 2. “Away from [the church] one cannot hope for any forgiveness of sins or any salvation.”
In this article for the month of April, Michael Glodo discusses "Sola Ecclesia: The Lost Reformation Doctrine". It is all too obvious that the modern church has forgotten its roots and fallen into the gulf of rank individualism, not only in regard to how the contemporary professing Christian views himself, but also the assemblies of those individuals as a church. Biblically, the Church (visible) is the Kingdom of God on earth and it is within and from the Church that Christ rules its members. As Paul says, the Church consists of "one body, and one Spirit, . . . one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God ..." of which Christ is the Head. Read this important article now here: Sola EcclesiaFor later reading, you will find this article in Calvinism and the Reformed Faith and in the Ecclesiology - The Doctrine of the Church section. In His service and grace,
simul iustus et peccator
