While browsing through the Dispensational and Covenant Theology chart above in the read-only forum, I came across the term, analogy of faith. Please explain that further as I am unfamiliar with that term. I might be able to give a good guess, but again, I could be totally wrong.

Although, dispensationalists remain strong in their view of two different people groups, Israel and the Church, I am not sure if they remain firm on some of the points of difference in the chart. Basically CTs see continuity between the OT and the NT whereas the dispensationalists see discontinuity between the old and new.

Very simply it means comparing Scripture with Scripture. See this article here: The Analogy of Faith

yep That's why I added that not all items apply across the board since there are differing views within each system. grin

Good chart, nice to see one on our side for a change.
Number 25 is really interesting, and I suppose the average DF would would strongly agree. But then the average DF has never looked very deeply into the system. The idea that the ' Law is abolished' is inconsistant with the parethetical church age.

Quote
As we have seen in our former studies, the Age or Dispensation of Law has not even yet ended, but has been interrupted by the coming in parenthetically of the Church, like to the sheet let down from Heaven and taken up again...
Nearing The End , Pettingill 1948, p40.

This could lead to some fun.
