Below is a recent post from a futurist forum, it made me sick. Wow. Didn't know it had gone that far either. Exciting days! As Dr. Adrian Rogers used to say, "It's getting gloriously dark!" That came in response to ; (handles left out purposefully) I attended the Pre-Trib Study Group Conference put on by Tim LaHaye and Thomas Ice. The theme was encouraging pastors, teachers, ministers, and believers to continue believing in the dispensational truths of Scripture and defending God’s Word, especially when it comes to eschatological matters. Some of the speakers were Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, Dr. Paul Wilkinson, Dr. Andy Woods, Dr. David Larsen, Dr. Barry Horner, Dr. Manfred Kober, Dr. Tim LaHaye and Dr. Thomas Ice. I will write a short review of each of the speakers I was able to hear, but just wanted to write a short synopsis and my thoughts on the conference. I did not know the extent that Covenant Theology is breaking through in the churches and Christian colleges across the US and the UK. Not only are we becoming more European as a country, but our churches are becoming more European as well. I also was unaware of the practical conclusions that Covenant theology is presenting in the world today. They do not believe that Christ is coming back, do not believe that Israel still has promises in the future, and therefore should not be giving them any support today. It is dangerous and vile to the mind. Gary Burge, Steven Sizar, and others are making the charge that the Jews are the terrorists and need to get out of that land. They are being invited to speak at Muslim conferences and meeting with key Muslim leaders in the Middle East. They are giving approval to documentaries showing how the Jews are tormenting the poor Palestinians.

They do not believe that Christ is coming back,... Amazing isn't it how ignorant and/or dishonest people are when describing someone else's theological view(s). We should not be found guilty of the same but contrariwise, we should be honest, accurate and fair to our opponents.

Th ey do not believe that Christ is coming back,... That was very disturbing and led to the question below; How can they be 'churches' if they dont believe Christ is coming back? Your counterpart responded ,today, to this question as folows; Not all assemblies teach correct doctrine. As Pastor Karl (original poster) pointed out, Covenant Theology is permeating churches in the US. Specific names have been requested ,no response so far. It is a gross misrepresentation and Im curious to see how far it goes. My guess is that some wildly liberal church will be cited as a fair example ,we shall see.

This was posted yesterday on that same forum and it is mind boggling; I really appreciated what you said about Jesus not being our King. I hope you don't mind my quoting a short piece from Miles Stanford's beautiful open letter to John Gerstner as he shared a piece of his testimony that deals with this concept: "This is where my Antinomianism really comes into play. It is true that, by means of the Word, I ultimately came to know the Saviour as Lord--in the sense of His Deity: He is sovereign Lord of the universe. But He has never been Lord over me, whether it be rebirth, or new life. He is my Life; I am a son of God--which is far beyond and more intimate than Lordship. I acknowledge and confess Him as Lord, but the Word never speaks of Him as Lord in relation to the Body. He is to be Lord and King over the nation of Israel, but not over His beloved Bride, His very Body--"for we are members of His Body, of His flesh, and of His bones" (Eph. 5:30). In Him as Life; not under Him as Lord and King."
I love that!!!!!!!
