“Descended into Hell” Apostles Creed I found a link that I thought some might want to have a look at. According to the person (Sandy Grant) writing on the Apostles Creed statement “Descended into hell”, the original intent for the English word “hell” in this case is “the grave” rather than the other meaning which is the place of punishment for the unsaved. Hi Tom, Every Lord's Day, I post in the Devotions section, the questions and answers from the Heidelberg Catechism, along with an exposition of them by Zacharias Ursinus. If you would look at the Lord's Day 16 Question and Answer 44 , and its Exposition, you should find sufficient information for your answer. There is a lot of valuable information included in those devotions so I would encourage people to make use of them.

If you would look at the Lord's Day 16 Question and Answer 44, and its Exposition, you should find sufficient information for your answer. There is a lot of valuable information included in those devotions so I would encourage people to make use of them. thank you for posting these. I was looking for those commentaries. The commentary on q. 21 was such a blessing to me!
