What is the best way to approach a free will Baptist preacher about the doctrines of grace? I do have a copy of their "Free Will Baptist Treatise" which explains what they believe (Arminianism at it's best). Any thoughts?

Yes, I've read that many times before. Very simple really. No need to make it complicated.
It amazes me how it takes God opening your eyes to see the truth. You can't see it for yourself. Very humbling. Thanks, Pilgrim. I pray God will open his eyes.

Makes me ever more grateful I was able to witness the process of exchange as my folks, second generation Pentecostals, Glad Tidings class of '49 no less, burned the rags of Pentecostal laws and traditions for the wonders of God's personal enduring grace. I was just along for the ride.

The preacher tried to convince me that he was almost as reformed as I was, but as they say close only counts in horseshoes.

You right "close only counts in horse shoes". I might also add hand grenades.  I would also say in some cases when someone sees that all 5 points of TULIP stand or fall together, then they either embrace or reject all of them. I once read an article that showed this truth, better than any other I have ever read. Unfortunately, I no longer know where to find that article. Tom
