I saw that on a Facebook entry, and I just do not buy that. Sure, they may be leaving but they had already left biblical Christianity. The church today has nothing to offer nominal Christians in the way of positioning themselves to win favor in the world at large. In decades past, the church did, but not now.

Would sya that the main reason they leave is that they have not yet been saved, or else if have been, have not had the mind set installed within them yet to obey and submit to the Lordship of jesus over their lives! Would also add that most who are Dems seem to hold to really liberal mindset that refuses to accept God exits, that they need to get saved, and that there are no real moral absolutes!

One of the things I have noticed is our youth are constantly bombarded with the so called "wisdom of the world". Sometimes it is extremely hard for them to wade through what is truth and what is not truth.
It is extremely important that Christian parents teach their children Scripture and model it in the best way they can.
I am reminded of a few discussions I have participated in over the years.
The Christian Faith has been mocked in areas such as its stand in areas like homosexuality.
In a few of those discussions, although there is no such thing as a nuetral position, the better arguments seemed to be coming from the secular side.
If a person does not have a firm foundation in the Word of God, they may be tempted to bow to that pressure. Or at least seak out a liberal understanding of Scripture in order to maintain what they think they believe. Otherwise, they might be tempted to think things like God is the author of confusion and maybe even the author of evil.

What I find puzzling is the work of the Holy Spirit. I remember becoming a Christian and I immediately started to understand what I read in Scripture. There was no turning back. Nowadays, we seem to need to coax our youngsters and young believers to understand Scripture by believing it, There is infrequent immediate work by the Spirit. I just see few really swift changes in people now as I did in the past.

The society/culture of today is much less accepting of Christian teachings than before, as the "concepts" of alternate lifestyles, evolution, plurality of religions are pretty much acceted as being the truth by many within the church itself now! If the ministersand teachers within the Church now accept such things to a large extent, why wouldn't the youth raised up under their leadership follow?
