I am just saying that we so not have to put our brains on the shelf, as the ultimate truth and witness to the things of God are indeed Jesus and the scriptures themselves, but that God rooted them into history, and science and history are also solid witnesses as secondary sources to them as the primary ones!

I think that he sees me suggesting that the historical evidences are equal to, or mayve should even be the primary ones, but I am seeing them as addition to the primary ones of jesus and the scriptures, as God did root that into real history!

Believe me in order to use or even understand Presuppositional Apologetics, one needs to have their brains fully engaged. It is more a matter of what our minds are engaged in.
It is true that there are historical proofs of Christianity. However the fact is when someone says something to the contrary of the historical proofs of Christianity, they are speaking through their world view. They are suppressing the truth in unrighteousness, in order to try to make an excuse for their own automomy. (By the way, I got the word "autonomy" from Bahnsen's book.)
That being the case, rather than refuting them by using their presuppositions. We need to use our own presuppositions in order to show the folly of theirs, realizing that in doing so it is only the Holy Spirit that can regenerate them. All we are doing is being faithful to proclaim the Word of God.
As I previously said, this is something that does not come naturally for me. My natural tendency is to want to rely on my own autonomous reasoning, regardless of the fact that I know that in doing so I am entering into an unbeliever's presupposition.
