Trying to understand something that a pastor said to me during a rant.
(Not an exact quote)
"The problem with Christians today for the most part has nothing to do with essential doctrine. It has to do with philosophy. We should not be fighting over philosophy!"
Thoughts, comments, etc.. are welcomed.

I disagree with his assessment, but agree with his conclusion. 1. The vast majority of professing Christians know little of essential biblical doctrine(s), e.g., the doctrine of God, of the Fall, of sin, of justification and sanctification, of separation from the world, etc. 2. Philosophy is the musings of men which are a waste of time, since the Bible is the ONLY reliable source of true, absolute truth concerning life and eternity.

I was thinking what he called "philosophy", had to do with things like apologetics, whether or not egalitarianism, or complimentarianism is correct; philosophy of ministry, or even musical styles for worship.
However, seeing he said this rant without context, I am not sure.
If so however, I disagree with him, the Bible deals with those topics.
