I am running into people, even Reformed Christians that say they disagree with Charlie Kirk on on major thing and that is his stand on guns.
They go on to say that because of this, it makes him a hypocrite.
Mainly because it is a gun that killed him.

I stated, to him.
Here is the response I got back.

First, could you please provide what Charlie Kirk's stand was on guns? Not everyone was an avid follower of Charlie Kirk and familiar with all that he believed on every subject. Since this was mentioned it would be most helpful to be informed of his view(s) on firearms.

Now, it is NOT true that "guns are easy to get", at least here in the U.S. and in many other countries.

The Background Check Process
-The Buyer: Fills out ATF Form 4473 with personal and background information. (submitting false information is subject to federal prosecution.)
-The Dealer: A Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL)—such as a licensed gun store—submits the buyer's information to NICS electronically or by phone.
-The System: NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) checks federal, state, and local databases to verify the buyer does not have a disqualifying criminal record or background.
-State Variations: Some states act as a point of contact and run the check through a state agency rather than directly contacting the FBI. For example, in New Hampshire, licensed dealers contact the state Department of Safety for handgun sales and the FBI directly for long gun sales.

Who is Exempt?
Licensed Dealers Only: Federal law requires background checks only for sales conducted by federally licensed dealers (FFLs).Private Sales: Unlicensed private sellers (such as some online or gun show transactions) are exempt under federal law, though several states mandate universal checks for all sales.

Of course the most used way to obtain a firearm by criminals is via theft or the black market sales. Criminals are called such because they have no respect for and do not obey law.

Try and purchase a firearm in Canada or Australia!!

FACT: There are 100s of millions of people in the US who own firearms and who have never used one of them to commit a crime. In fact, the CDC has resumed providing statistics recently that shows that, e.g., over 2 millions of citizens have used their firearms to prevent crime in this country. One of the best antedotes to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

Charlie Kirk’s stand on guns is very much like yours.
If I find something that shows this, I can post it.

By the way, I am from a family that was very much into hunting and fishing.
In fact, when my dad was too old to hunt, he offered his guns to me. These include a 1958 Winchester bolt action 3006. A shot gun and a Cooey 9 shot clip 22.

I turned it down, mainly because although I used to enjoy hunting with my dad.
I am not really a hunter and my wife does not like guns.

So these "Reformed Christians" and others of their ilk are saying, that because Charlie Kirk and his loyal followers believed that is a God-given right, as expressed in the U.S. Constitution, the supreme law of the land, that every citizen has the right to guard themselves against tyranny, both within and without and to self-defense of self, family, loved ones and others via the use of a firearm, it is his/their fault that he was shot with a rifle by a deranged trans individual? How many crimes of murder are committed by other means other than a firearm throughout the world? Should every means used; hands and feet (#1), knives, baseball bats, rocks, hammers, screwdrivers, cords of various material, cars, trucks, et. al, be therefore banned from existence? The problem is the depravity of the human heart/soul. Cain murdered his brother without a firearm or a sword, what could/should God have banned or not created that would have prevented that horrible act? This is nonsense (no sense) thinking and thankfully it is not dominant in our society... perhaps yet? It is the LAW here that freedom to own and bear arms is every good citizen's right. Until that law is changed on the national level, it will remain to be available and cannot "be infringed" by anyone for any reason.

Mrs. Robin and I are gun owners, as are my adult children. My 8-year-old grand daughter goes with us to the range and practices with both pistol and rifle. My 3-year old grandson will be trained as soon as he is able to safely handle a firearm (years from now of course).

The family enjoys shooting sports. My daughter is the best skeet shooter in the family. The clays she shoots don't even land - they are vaporized and just float away like smoke. Amazing.

Only two of us actually use firearms for hunting. For the rest it's sport and if need be, home defense.

Sounds like a true red-blooded American family to me.

So much said in so few words. Disarm the law abiding citizens of their guns and we are all sitting ducks in a shooting gallery. If you think you have enough guns, buy one (or two) more.

And get professional training on how and when to use it.
