Politics
What are the main issues when you vote that are your top 5 priorities that determine what party you vote for and why?

The reason why I am asking this question, is something I became aware of via Face Book.
The Church my children grew up in in the town we used to live in, had many other children my children are friends with until this very day. Many of whom, my wife and I are very fond of; to the point we consider some to be like extended family.
Most of them now are over 30 now.
I learned via Facebook that several of them are into politics and one of them is running Federally in the upcoming election.
It appears by the responses that many of these adult children are supporting their friend because "they trust her."
The problem however is that she is running for the NDP party. Which is to put it mildly a socialist party and whose policies on issues like abortion and homosexuality are against Scripture.
Most of them still attend Church and they sure didn't learn those things there.
I asked two friends for their advice and both of them told me basically to stay out of it; they are adults.
The problem is, it looks like many of them are following their friend as if she is the Pied Piper, without even considering what she believes.
I don't want to ruin my relationship with them, but I think I need to say something.
Perhaps, saying something to the effect how it is great to support your friends. But what do they believe about their views (while naming them) of the NDP party.

Why not ask these 'friends' what their personal views are in regard to some of those important issues? You might want to also ask them how much authority Scripture has in determining their views and then which candidate(s) they will vote for based on the candidates' views?

Church is mimicking the state and the state is mimicking Satan. My litmus test for everything is, ‘How does this glorify God?’
I apply it to woke ‘christianity’, celibate gay ‘christians’ and all the other nonsense coming down the pike. I can’t believe how far down even so-called reformed churches are following the culture and left politicians down the road to oblivion.

Like Machen said, liberalism is another religion all together, and there is practically no distinction between religious and political liberals - it’s all the same. Machen’s Christianity & Liberalism is essential reading for everyone.
