All religious error is dangerous - Thu Jan 09, 2020 9:02 PM
All religious error is dangerous, and ought to be carefully guarded against. "There is a natural connection between truth and holiness, and between error and sin." While the devil 'abode in the truth ' he was holy; and no sooner was man deceived than he became a sinner. Every duty is acting out a truth, and every sin is the embodiment of a falsehood. Is it reasonable to expect that a man will walk in the right way if he does not know it? And, if he is deceived as to this point, what can be anticipated but that he will stray into forbidden paths? Error is not, cannot be, either innocent or safe. It cannot be cherished without both sin and danger.
~ John Brown of Edinburgh
exposition of Galatians 6:7-8

Error today is posing as truth whereas truth has been delegated to the back burner and called error. In this post truth, post Christian world, the dictates of the father of lies are blinding " the minds of unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. II Corinthians 4:4 . But alas, even through the deception of lies masquerading as truth, God is Sovereignly unfolding the covenant of redemption, whereas He has chosen the elect, for which Christ was the substitute to make atonement and propitiation to secure the elects redemption. Truth and holiness shall always prevail. I just want to say Annie, this is a good quote from John Brown. I have Hebrews by him whim is a good commentary. I also like Pink. Luther, Calvin and Henry are what I have for Galatians commentaries. This is a great website and nice to meet you.
