I'm afraid I have more bad news to report to my fellow Washington citizen, Boanerges. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/broke.gif" alt="" /> OLYMPIA, Wash. - Cal Anderson, the state's first openly gay lawmaker, died of AIDS more than a decade ago. Before passing, he asked a friend for a promise: that he would keep working on gay civil rights legislation.
"I remember the day that Cal told me he didn't have much longer to live," said Rep. Ed Murray, a Seattle Democrat. "One of the things he asked was if I would continue work on this bill."
The bill passed the Senate 25-23, with a lone Republican joining Democrats in voting in favor. The House approved it 61-37, and Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire said she would sign it Tuesday.
Murray was given a standing ovation when it passed the House, and colleagues surrounded gay lawmakers to congratulate them.
"History is going to look kindly upon the legislators who had the courage to vote for this," said Rep. Dave Upthegrove, who cried when the bill passed the House. "It's a great day for equality, for fairness." Denny Romans 3:22-24

Denny, I have to admit it always amazes me that perverted lifestyles have been so openly accepted and even given special status when according to polls homosexuals still remain a significant minority. They say it's a great day for equality and fairness. However, can you just hear the words the Lord will use to describe this on Judgement Day? I'm sure it won't be those. It's a sad day when sin has so blinded a nation that special status is given to it's most depraved citizens. I've heard it said that "if God doesn't judge this nation soon He's going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gommorah." Wes

It is sad, and a telling-point in the philosophy and direction of current society.
2 points:
For those who say there is no difference between the DEMS and GOP. Sure, the GOP is far less than desirable, but they are not in the same league as the DEMS.
Secondly, homosexuality and abortion are the societal fighting points today. I'm wondering if in past days there were other fighting points where Christians did not sway the day leading Christians later-on to ignore those issues or put them on the back-burner? Will the same be on the abortion and homosexual issues as well?

Wes, I've heard it said that "if God doesn't judge this nation soon He's going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gommorah." I'm afraid to even know all the sordid details of this new law in my own state of Washington. I think I'm just like Ezekiel when the Lord commanded Ezekiel to: And He said to me, "Go in and see the wicked abominations that they are committing here". Ez 8:9 The subtle deceit is this: If the Scripture clearly tells us to discriminate in our associations with men of depraved sexual behavior, then the Scripture itself becomes an unlawful and "intolerant" document. This new morality will eventually lead to a discrimination of the worst kind: a legally enforced hatred of the Word of God. Denny Romans 3:22-24

Doesn't surprise me at all. I remember when it was first purposed and the rally of the various pastors in the Seattle area against it. Now, months later it quietly slips in without a bang or a whimper from the same pastors who rallied against it.

Well, now you know how we in B.C. feel! It is a terrible feeling to live in the worst part of North American society! Such a beautiful testimony to Lord of beauty is the scenery, and such filthy occupants in His land. How will He not strike them down? I feel the doom due the citizens of Sodum and Gomorrah. Pray the Lord sends leaders to strengthen us in the fight against this. Where are they? It is disheartening, isn't it?
In His Hands,
Ruth

Until our churches begin cleaning up the act, and start posessing what we profess, we can expect more of the same.
