I've been thinking about the continuity between the OT and NT recently and was wondering about the link between OT priests and NT Pastors. Am I correct in stating that the office of priest in the OT was replaced by the pastor in the NT? If this is correct, there still seems to be a number of differences. For example, with the end of the sacrificial system, pastors of course no longer offer make sacrifices for the sins of the people. On the other hand, the preaching/teaching of God's word seems to be a point of continuity. Are there any articles that might deal with this issue of continuity/discontinuity between the two offices?
Thanks, John
