“When the Gospel calls goes out to a crowd it goes out with one message, "God commands all men everywhere to repent." However, in that crowd are two hearers. For the first group the Gospel call is an external call only to the reprobate and the call comes to them laced with God's judgment. For the second group the Gospel call is both external and internal and the Holy Spirit gives the repentance and faith God requires and so the call is God's grace.
One call ... two hearers ... two completely different divine intentions.”

Copied this. Author not given. My thought was does it matter who is listening? We are to proclaim the gospel and leave the rest to God. Your thoughts?

1. The proclamation of the Gospel is to be indiscriminate. That begs the question, however, What is the Gospel? evilgrin
2. It must be acknowledged that there may be one or more or even everyone in a group that is elect. [Linked Image] that does not mean that they all will respond in repentance and genuine faith. In fact, it is possible that none will come to conviction, repent and believe savingly on Christ. It is God who has determined WHEN He will work in their minds and hearts to turn them from darkness to Light.
3. We do not know and cannot know the eternal end of any person; who is elected to glory or who is elected to damnation. Thus we are only responsible to speak the truth of the Gospel to ALL. (cf. 1Cor 3:7-9)

1. Therefore we should not be telling men, Christ died for them. 2. Christ died for sinners, and on that basis they can come and partake. 3. No one knows he is elected until he comes, and the Gospel is freely offered to "whoever wants it." thirsty, hungry, sick and sore, all may come and join in the feast. 4. But only ones who have been given life will respond to it.
