Here is a controversial issue, that was brought up on a Christian forum. Maternity leave I read with interest a discussion about whether or not women should be entitled to have paid maternity leave. I thought it better not put my 2 cents into the conversation. However, I noticed that more than 90% of those in the thread were women and the vast majority of them were from the USA. Just to give an example of some of the stories I read. One of them involved a woman who had a baby and got one day off to have her baby and the very next day, was forced to work or get fired. Others said that many companies say that if you want time off to have a baby, then you should not expect the company to pay for it. If you can’t afford it, don’t get pregnant. In Canada, it is not that way, woman are entitled to a year off.
I know this is a controversial topic, but I thought I would put it out there for discussion.

Could you possibly mean maternity? I sat looking at maturity leave and thought well that sounds like retirement to me.

Oh man, I need to learn to write with my glasses on. 😂 Yes, I meant maternity leave. Maturity leave, that might be an interesting discussion.

Pete Buttigieg, appointed by Joe Biden, United States secretary of transportation, took maternity leave after his "husband" and he adopted a child. Yes, you read correctly. It's one of the current 'perks' that LGBT... xyz couples are afforded. I do believe that most businesses allow maternity leave to women who have given birth. I do not know all the details nor laws which are on the books concerning this practice.

Wonder where in the States these people were from that I was reading about? I read one say that they live in a Republican held Stare. It wasn’t very flattering either.

When you make a mistake, might as well joke about it.

It would not surprise me that because it is part of the LBGQT+ agenda, that they would get more perks than actual women wanting maternity leave.
