One praise worthy update to John's appearance on TBN.

The ministry here received an email from a lady in England who has been an avid TBN viewer and financial supporter. She stated in her letter that the gospel John presented on the broadcast was the first time she heard the gospel framed in such a manner. In her thinking, the gospel of Christ is one of blessing, financial reward and anticipated personal miracles. When John specifically stated that Christ's gospel calls people to self denial and the possibility of death, she stated that she was totally shaken to her foundation. What compounded this personal earthquake of sorts even more is the fact that John used scripture to support his assertions. It was, in her estimation, the first time anyone on that program used a Bible to solidly support his beliefs about Jesus, the gospel and personal sanctification. Her final comments were somewhat dispairing as she stated she is unsure what to do with herself now. We are trying to set her up with some folks we know over in the UK. At anyrate, I was thrilled to hear how God in his providence was using such an unusual broadcast on such a bizare network.
