Tom said: Does anyone have something that they say, when they hear similar arguments that you have found to be helpful in making the hearer/reader understand? Romans 1:16-17 (ASV) "For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith." Proclamation of the truth will be accepted by those who have been given ears to hear. There is no such thing as a "silver bullet", i.e., a guaranteed method of convincing anyone of the truth. All we are required to do is to put forth the truth of God's Word. (1Cor 3:6, 7) I find this to be most assuring and comforting, knowing that I am not responsible to convince anyone of anything. The result is in God's hand and this too we know that ALL who are predestined to eternal life will receive the truth and rejoice in it. Mark 6:11 (KJV) "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city."
In His Grace,
simul iustus et peccator
