I have been reading Dr Robert Morey's book on the Atonement. He defends the position of the limited or particular atonement. He cites only about five authors who really go in depth on this subject. All of the authors are now dead. So that makes me wonder, is the doctrine of a limited atonement been abandoned in Baptist and evangelical churches today? I watch John Hagee and Charles Stanley on TV and I never hear them preach on it, but they simply tell the viewing audience that Christ has died for you or all men in general. I guess my question is, why have gospel preachers stopped preaching this doctrine?

1) It isn't "seeker-sensitive." 2) They don't themselves believe it. 3) They aren't really gospel preachers.
