Independent of the theological and financial concerns, the allegations suggest that R.C. Jr. and company exercised (or attempted to exercise) excessive control over the congregation. Is this in fact the case? It sounds a bit like the old "shepherdship" movement of the 70's that was popular in some charismatic circles.
