As I was reading that quote, I was thinking what if a major public figure said that today? He would be labeled a right wing xenophobic racist bigot (plus a few other choice words that can't be posted here) and would probably be strung up that flag pole if they got their hands on him.

That sounds pretty extreme but you may be right. There is little tolerance for guys like me and Teddy today. However, the point is immigrants need to be assimulated into the country by learning the American way, speak the English language, and conform to the laws of the land. Otherwise were going to look alot like Mexico in a few years.

America is losing it's identity and has already lost her ability to control her borders. Our lawmakers may make a proposal to legalize these 11 million immigrants and then make a committment to guard her borders better in the future. This may be acceptable to some but when the next 11 million arrive on the scene because the borders haven't improved we'll be at the same point and who will we blame?

I have a friend who's a carpenter in the Denver, Colorado. He told me there are so many Mexicans working in the lumber yards there that don't speak english it has became almost impossible for him to communicate his needs.
