Hey folks,
I'm not sure I should be posting this in the Open Forum, but I figure here it will get a bit more exposure than in Chatterbox Cafe or the Prayer Forum—and at any rate, I consider it to be a topic of general interest!
A while ago, John made a
post congratulating me on my graduation from university and asking if I had any future plans. Well, I do have future plans: I'll be joining the
Trinity Fellows Program this September in Charlottesville, Va.
Now, basically what this means is that I'll be spending nine months working closely with the youth ministry of
Trinity PCA, tutoring kids at the church's inner-city ministry, and participating in seminary-accredited courses and seminars through the
Center for Christian Study. As part of the program, each Fellow must work three days a week at a marketplace job, in my case at State Farm Insurance. I will also be living with a host family from the church, and of course will be engaged in constant interaction with the other Fellows (about a dozen of us altogether). The goal of the program is to enable the Fellows to apply a thoroughly Christian worldview to their whole lives, as well as to help them discern God's calling.
So, first of all, I'm asking for your prayers for me and for the rest of the Fellows who will be involved in the program this year. It will certainly be a year full of challenges, and we will need all the grace God can give us to integrate happily into our host families and Trinity church, and to get along well with each other.
Secondly—you guessed it!—I'm seeking some financial support. In order to help pay the costs of our theological courses and training, and other general administrative costs associated with the program, each Fellow is to raise a sum of $5,500 in support. If you are willing and able to support me in this way, please PM me or E-mail me at
kjsulli@the-highway.com, including your mailing address, and I will send you a support letter. Or, if you prefer, I can simply reply to you with the information necessary to send in a contribution.
Thanks in advance for your prayers.
