Thanks for asking the question It's OK if you think I'm wrong but I will not try to prove anything. I am coming to a point in my walk where I am done arguing with other Christians and their so called Christian liberty, Christians who think that they can get tattoo's, watch Football on the Lord's day, listen to rock music, go to the movies that blaspheme God. I think there is something terribly wrong with their faith.
Not very edifying I know.
Have a good Lord's day, William Hi Tom, first off I want you know that I made this post knowing that I was setting myself up for controversy and I acknowledge that it is to his own master that a man standeth or falleth. Will I provide proof texts for what I have said perhaps, but why bother it will just be given another interpretation under pretence of Christian liberty rather than sanctified common sense based on what is necessarily contained in the Holy Scripture. Can you or someone else in their own words please explain why a Christian has liberty to: Watch sports on the Lord's day Get a tattoo Listen to rock music Go to movies that blaspheme God William . I am fairly new here and I am also so what new to reform theology. I hoped that I was misunderstanding earlier but I can see now that I am not. I can see that going to a movie that profanes God is a no brainer... I an also understand the rational for the rock music... never been a big fan myself so perhaps the understanding is more personal perferance than Bibical understanding. The football and the tattoo smack of legalism to me. I have a tattoo and at least once a year I watch football with my friends. (They call it fellowship but that is another thread.) I quess I am confussed... and a bit disappointed. I am a meber of another forum that is without apology the antipoid of this place. The theology over there is so fuzzy and mixed with error as to be almost unbearable at times and yet I find that there is sense in which I feel less condemned there that I have felt in reading this one thread. I am not convicted of error. I fail to see how these issues particually have any real conncection to whether a person has real faith. Perhaps you can englighten me from scripture so that I can understand more of the soverigien grace of God in calling people to himself even those of us with a tattoo and an occcassional like for football on sunday.
