There oughta be a law--against puns like that!

Back on topic, while one can never rejoice to see lawlessness increase, when I hear news like this I like to pray that the potential of an increase in real persecution of the Church will be used of our Sovereign Lord to purify His Church, that the lusting of much of the Church for the delights of this passing evil world will be crushed, that the proclamation of the Holy Gospel would increase in clarity and boldness, unto a more perfect exaltation of the name of the Lord Christ, until He returns for His redeemed bride. No government hinders Him; He is accomplishing all His holy will even through those who hate His name.

Isaiah 40 (ESV):

21 Do you not know? Do you not hear?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
23 who brings princes to nothing,
and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.

24Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown,
scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth,
when he blows on them, and they wither,
and the tempest carries them off like stubble.

What is most exciting is that we are living in astonishing times when the number of Christians in places as disparate as China, India, Africa and some Muslim areas is growing at a rate unimaginable only 30 years ago.

Savoy Declaration of Faith, Ch. XX:

3. The revelation of the gospel unto sinners, made in divers times, and by sundry parts, with the addition of promises and precepts for the obedience required therein, as to the nations and persons to whom it is granted, is merely of the sovereign will and good pleasure of God, not being annexed by virtue of any promise to the due improvement of men's natural abilities, by virtue of common light received without it, which none ever did make or can so do.

And therefore in all ages the preaching of the gospel hath been granted unto persons and nations, as to the extent or straitening of it, in great variety, according to the counsel of the will of God.
