There are a number of alternatives, e.g., savings which the responsibible employee tucks a little away each week, company programs where it contributes an equal amount of that deducted from the employee's weekly wage and it goes into a pool/fund to help someone who gets injured on the job, etc.

What I am against is the GOVERNMENT making laws which negatively impact employers and employees alike, most of which are unnecessary. You simply cannot legislate intelligence, especially when they are made by ignorant individuals. Eutopia cannot be created by laws. Dark providences do come and they are part of life.

Insurance companies exempt claims for instances which they claim are "acts of God". Yet these people who included these "acts of God" are in most every case Atheists or Agnostics. scratch1 But in truth, what ISN'T an act of God? That being true, either the insurance companies should cover ALL legitimate claims or stop selling insurance. evilgrin
