And ruling elders are examined for their Christian knowledge in Bible and doctrine. The same distinction exists in the Dutch Reformed denominations as well. My point was that there is no legitimate biblical warrant for the distinction since ALL elders are to meet the requirements for the ONE office of elder. grin
