You are correct, I once tried to tell someone caught up in the Word of Faith Movement what Benny Hinn believed about the Trinity. Which basically is that there are 9 members of the Trinity.
The person got really mad at me and basically told me I was lying. When I told them I could prove it, by showing them a video of Benny Hinn himself. The person told me, no I couldn’t and I am not allowed to touch the Lord’s anointed.
