Duncan,

Sorry that what most of us wrote here, at least who are opponents of EP or in a more positively proponents of N.T. Hymnody, didn't write anything you found interesting. In our defense, we only wrote by way of reply to the arguments set forth by those who are wanting to defend EP. And in regard to this:

Quote
It has been suggested to me that perhaps those of us who practice EP are in fact so concious of our sin that we can only rely on Gods word.
I'm not sure how to understand this statement. And I surely don't want to take it in any way other than what you intended. So, could you please explain what you meant by this for me? grin

In His Grace,

Pilgrim,
Please forgive me,I did not mean to imply that all that has been written was uninteresting. What I actually meant was I found it all rather unconvincing. However the article you suggested for whatever reason seemed to get my attention. Not that I have turned you understand . grin My prayers have been answered I now at least have some understanding of your view.Regards the suggestion that was made to me,the thinking seemed to be that we are unable/unwilling to trust anything outside Gods word because we are greater sinners than the rest of you what can I say. shrug

Yours in Christ
Duncan

Can you produce either a command or inference that only Psalms should be sung from within scripture? If not, yhat very view is from outside scripture.

Can you produce the sheet music for the Psalms? If not, the melodies and harmonies used are from outside scripture.

God bless,

william

Sorry William,

rofl I respectfully cannot debate this with you as I find the subject itself to be bizarre.Having to defend scripture alone on here is very hard for me to comprehend. What I will say to you is this the point is also about purity in worship I cannot see it outside Gods word.
God Bless you

Duncan

The topic was never scripture alone, but, exclusive psalmody.

Is it OK to take your own Bible?

God bless,

william
