Trinity Hymnal #21
#21 God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants his footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines Of never-failing skill He treasures up his bright designs, And works his sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy, and shall break In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust him for his grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flow'r.
Blind unbelief is sure to err, And scan his work in vain. God is his own interpreter, And he will make it plain

Yea, we walk by faith and not by sight. God is sovereign-He does whatever He pleases.
Remember this: had any other condition been better for you than the one in which you are, divine love would have put you there. - Spurgeon

As a newbie here, I hope y'all will tolerate a small inspiration from those words above: "Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy, and shall break In blessings on your head." Very inspiring, personally. Thanks.

Hi Al,
Welcome to The Highway Discussion Board. Thank you for sharing this verse from a wonderful hymn with us.
We sang this lovely hymn by William Cowper recently. It is #128 in the Trinity Hymnal:
128: God Moves in a Mysterious Way
1 God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants his footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm.
2 Deep in unfathomable mines Of never-failing skill He treasures up his bright designs, And works his sovereign will.
3 Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy, and shall break In blessings on your head.
4 Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust him for his grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face.
5 His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding ev'ry hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flow'r.
6 Blind unbelief is sure to err, And scan his work in vain. God is his own interpreter, And he will make it plain.
I hope you will enjoy your time spent here. Keep these goodies coming! Thanks again.
