The link to the article I provided was just one such article against Lordship Salvation. I thought it might add to the discussion to show JesusFan the gravity of the issue. The names included in the article to me show some of the high profile names on the Lordship Salvation side. They are by no means the only high profile names; but it my belief that it shows just how important the issue is as a whole. The article is fairly typical of the beliefs on the non-Lordship side. Perhaps I am overstating my case?

I thought I would mention a site I found while studying this issue. https://www.monergism.com/search?keywords=lordship+salvation&format=AllIt has a number of articles on the Lordship Salvation issue. One being the same one that is on the Highway by William Webster and another one by a former member of the Highway named John Stevenson. Enjoy Tom

I would agree with you that this is an important topic to be discussing, and would just like to say that there would seem to be a middle ground on this issue, as the extreme view for Lordship and free grace are the ones that should be avoided.
The "I accepted Jesus at the alter one time", but never showed any real fruit, contrasted with one never being sure if they rate for eternal life until "final vindication."

The "I accepted Jesus at the alter one time", but never showed any real fruit, contrasted with one never being sure if they rate for eternal life until "final vindication." a. The first cries out to have the one true Gospel brought to him/her and pray that God would regenerate him/her and grant this person repentance and faith in the Lord Christ. b. The second person may simply need enlightenment to the biblical doctrine of salvation. But an examination of the person's professed faith should not be ignored and may indicate the same approach as the first (a.). You may not have read this older article that was written before the controversy became known as "Lordship Salvation". The heresy of those who oppose the doctrinal foundation of "Lordship Salvation" was existent long before and was then known as "The Carnal Christian Theory".

Christians can and still do sin after salvation, sometimes even gross sins, and for a season, but the proof of there being true salvation will be that they will in the end repent and confess and return back to the Shepard of their souls,
