It seems you think PM Mark Carney holds all the cards. However, if he gets his way Alberta will go backrupt and even the Alberta Provincial NDP Party has acknowledged that fact. Yet not if it means leaving Canada. It appears that when push comes to shove, the provincial NDP would allow Carney to get his way. The NDP really has never been liked by the majority of Albertans. Alberta could legally leave Canada, if the majority of Albertans voted to leave. It appears that PM Carney is willing to call their bluff on the issue and even whispered that if need be, he would use the ‘Emergency Act’. As for Quebec trying to leave before. Yes they tried three times and last time nearly got the votes they needed. With the Montreal business community giving the no side, the deciding factor. Alberta does have a disadvantage. They are landlocked and would need B.C. or Washington State, to partner with in order to use their rich resources. I doubt B.C. would allow that. Which means, Alberta’s only hope is to become the 51 State of the USA. President Trump would like that, but wouldn’t they need to be accepted by the rest of the States? I could actually see, Alberta and the USA benefiting each other. I am presently watching the following; which contains the latest news from Alberta Premier Danielle Smith. I am including it, in case anyone is interested. https://www.rebelnews.com/rebel_rou...utm_medium=email&utm_source=therebelTom

Which means, Alberta’s only hope is to become the 51 State of the USA. President Trump would like that, but wouldn’t they need to be accepted by the rest of the States?] Yes, there is a constitutional procedure for adding states to the United States. In summary: The procedure for adding a state to the U.S. involves several steps, primarily guided by Article IV, Section 3 of the Constitution. The process typically begins with a territory petitioning Congress for statehood, following a vote by the people of the territory expressing a desire for statehood. If the territory votes in favor, it then needs to create a constitution and submit it to Congress for approval. Finally, both houses of Congress must pass a joint resolution admitting the territory as a state, and the President must sign it into law. I seriously doubt Alberta would be approved for reasons stated above, e.g., primarily the voting block in Alberta most likely would vote to move the US to Socialism. Whether Trump actually wants to annex Canada or even one province of Canada is at best hearsay and Trump has not made it clear what he really thinks about the idea. His rhetoric is just that at this point. Any opinion which claims to be otherwise is pure speculation and has no validity to this matter. Northern Oregonians and Washingtonians have been trying to secede from the People's Republic of California for years. They want to annex to Idaho to escape the Socio-Communistic state to a free true state and some inroads have been accomplished. But there are many hurdles that must be overcome for them. Many of us are supporting their efforts believing California will never return to its original free Constitutional roots.

I’ve dropped out of politics cause I think both parties are being used to advance a cause. But you may be interested in these articles. It at least tries to touch on some of this, but at the end of the day, it’s just one person’s opinion with some interesting developments that appear underreported…. “To understand President Trump’s position on Canada, you have to go back to the 2016 election and President Trump’s position on the NAFTA renegotiation. If you did not follow the subsequent USMCA process, this might be the ah-ha moment you need to understand Trump’s strategy.” https://theconservativetreehouse.co...rpins-president-trump-remarks-on-canada/“Krayden outlines why some Canadians believe Alberta could become the 51st US state and how Donald Trump’s surprising support for Carney is fueling debate in Candian conservative circles. Was there a plan behind Trump’s approach? “ https://theconservativetreehouse.co...ection-and-future-of-alberta-succession/“An Unavoidable Trade War with Canada is Looming – Trigger Date July/August 2025 According to the people present, when former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau traveled to Mar-a-Lago to meet with President-elect Donald Trump, his primary objective was to inform President Trump his public demands for U.S. trade reciprocity with Canada were unachievable. Trudeau was not lying. In this outline we will explain a dynamic that is certain to surface this summer.” https://theconservativetreehouse.co...s-looming-trigger-date-july-august-2025/

It’s all kabuki but I agree with this comment….
“Do you believe that by his trolling President Trump had the power to influence the majority vote? If the conservative lead was indeed 30% until PDJT made what some might perceive as an inflammatory comment about becoming the 51st state, where were the critical thinkers among them? Would a clear thinking person say, yeah the globalist bankster is what we are looking for? I find that hard to believe. Could this be Canada’s version of our 2020 election? ….”
