In reply to:
[color:"blue"]If we follow the logic of just the teeth in carnivores, then why do we humans have pointy little flesh tearing teeth if we were created to be vegetarians?

Man, like the animals was created by God Who purposed the Fall. Perhaps we need to remember that by decree, man nor animal was going to remain in a pre-Fall state. In fact, the entire creation would occupy the vast majority of its earthly existence in a post-Fall condition. It is also my opinion that the Fall came very soon after, perhaps the very next day after (Sunday, if we hold that the ex nihilo creation ended on Friday). In short, the creation was created with God's perfect wisdom and according to plan with the anticipated Fall in clear view.

On a lesser note, man's teeth are such that man is capable, and I believed designed, for the eating both vegetables and meat. A Wendy's Classic is no problem to eat which has both meat and vegetables in it.

In His Grace,

Pilgrim,
In reply to:
[color:"blue"]I'm not so sure a case can be made for a vegetarian animal kingdom. Unless one is wanting to suggest that all the animals that are presently existent which are carnivorous were immediately morphed in their physical structure after the Fall. Did lions and tigers, dogs, cats, alligators all have flat teeth, such as do cows and horses? Were their digestive systems totally different than what they are today?

Well I see the case for a vegetarian animal kingdom being defined in Isaiah 11:6-9.
"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together;
And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole,
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD
As the waters cover the sea. (Isa.11:6-9)
Whether their teeth or digestive systems are changed or not they seem to be capable of making that change in the picture we have here of the new earth. One has to wonder if that's exactly how it was in the garden of eden before the fall.

Another thought: What do you suppose the animals ate when they were on the ark?

Wes

I agree! If pre-Fall man could be equipped with post-Fall teeth and digestive systems, then it follows that the animals could have been also.

What did they eat on the Ark? Well..alot of eggs, I guess. With that many birds on board, there would have been plenty of 'em! Some would have been hibernating, I think, but not all of them. I don't know what a big cat would normally consume, but it boggles the mind, mine at least, to think about what it took to feed them, both in terms of commodities and time! Maybe the 7 unclean animals were brought along to be a source of animal food...their numbers would surely increase offspring. I don't know, just pondering!

Hannahsmom
