However, such a lengthy quote would require a response of equal or greater length to which I neither have time to do nor want to burden the server. giggle However, I think even though the writer and the Greek Orthodox Church would like to distance themselves from the RCC doctrine of "Oral Tradition", they end up being basically the same. This is an old, old issue and one which has been more than adequately refuted by various defenders of the "closed canon" tradition which includes the Scriptures being the sole and final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

Perhaps one of the most recent and thorough refutations can be found in the 3-volume Sola Scriptura, by David King and William Webster. Others may be able to give direct links to more refutations and/or debates on this subject, e.g., by James White and other apologists.

Thank you very much, Pilgrim, I will look into your references here.

Grace-centered Forums

This is a theology website started by members of the Restoration Movement (non-instrumental churches of Christ). The author of this used to be an RM minister before he went into the orthodox church. He is extremely intellectual. I used to be a member of that forum, but left due to the strident atmosphere there. I just go there now to read, I would similarly recommend you not actually get into a discussion there as Calvinists are favorite prey and you will get a bashing (which I got so tired of myself!)....Blessings to you
