I have no idea, of course, why this couple was dragged into court, e.g., whether they fire-bombed a house owned by homosexuals, or denied service to these two gay men, or simply made some perceived derogatory remark(s) about homosexuality. So, I am certainly not going to comment on the hearing/trial.

However, although I agree with 99% of what you wrote, I do believe that homosexuality should be openly opposed no less than rape, murder, theft, assault. In this country (USA) and most others, there are laws against such crimes (sins). As Christians, homosexuality comes under the 7th Commandment that covers all sexual sins. It doesn't make a wit of difference if a particular government legalizes a sin, a Christian must stand against it and be willing to suffer any undeserved punishment put upon them for doing so. The principle of conduct for Christians is: To obey all laws which do not violate what God has commanded and to disobey all laws which God has forbidden.

Secondly, albeit it is true that anything that is a violation of God's commandments, either by commission or omission, is a sin. But, the Bible does distinguish between sins which can be readily seen in regard to the punishment to be exacted against the various types of sin, e.g., theft, lying, coveting vs. adultery, idolatry and blasphemy. Let me be very clear, that I am NOT advocating what some Reconstructionists hold to, i.e., the civil laws regarding capital punishment for certain sins are applicable today. nope My point is that homosexuality has far-reaching negative effects upon both those who practice it and society in general.

Lastly, again to affirm with you that everyone born into this world is prone to sin to one degree or another and I will add, that all who are not washed in the blood of Christ will suffer eternal punishment for 1) being a sinner at conception, and 2) for all sins committed in their lifetime. But when I read Scripture, it appears to me that homosexuality is something which God has 'allowed' as a special form of earthly judgment against idolatry (cf. Rom 1:18-27). Homosexuality is one way in which God's wrath and the depth of human sin is openly displayed for all to see.

Addendum: This type of legal action against Christians and Christianity in general is, I believe, in its infancy. Persecution against Christians who rightly oppose all such debauchery is going to increase and at a rapid pace due to the concerted effort of the 'Gay & Lesbian' contingency whose goal is to infect all of the world with their immorality, which will expand into the acceptance of bestiality, incest and all other forms of unspeakable sexual deviation. Remember well that in the last days this type of persecution will go beyond anything that has ever been witnessed before in the history of mankind. No Christian will escape for: 2 Timothy 3:12 (ASV) "Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
