My comment re: idolatry is the logical end of someone who rejects the biblical doctrine of verbal plenary inspiration. Why? Because if Scripture is errant i.e., it contains error, then it is virtually impossible to know truth. And, if truth is unknownable, then how can someone know for certain who God is? Therefore, all that one is left with is speculation based upon the arbitrary receiving and rejecting of particular texts concerning the person and nature of God resulting in a god of one's own liking, aka: idolatry.
