Is there a good article here or elsewhere that goes into some depth as to the responsibilities inherent in being an elder? My husband is one (not at present a sitting elder) but does not feel as though he has received sufficient training in that office. At this time, we both think that the role of elder is a good deal different than the kind of role our church practices. Wheter our church practices differently or not, he wishes to know more about that to which God has called him so that he might be faithful to what God expects.
