Out of curiosity...of course...I was wondering if anyone, by outside knowledge or experience knew the statistics/apparent success rate of women who have held or currently hold a position in the Church as Pastors or Asst. Pastors? (i.e. how long do they last in ministry in comparison to men, is the ministry effective, how do they deal with various congregational matters such as counseling men, etc.)

My current denomination (American Baptist Churches) pratices the ordination of women, as well as do Methodists and I was just wondering as this practice, I think, does not mesh with Scripture.

ABC Statistics. As far as other denominations a web search may help. ... Possibly Barna Research.

Wow Joe, You da man! Interesting...the numbers aren't THAT big but women are still being ordained and the numbers are increasing.

I honestly hope no one is taking offense to this but I just see some things going on in the denomination that concern me and I'm sure there are folks in other denominations that see things as well. Today in service I was thinking about spending significant time in prayer in our sanctuary at least one day a week to ask God's blessing in this place and in our denomination for that matter. It's so easy to complain about the deficiencies but what am I REALLY DOING to effect change.

tj,
A church or denomination that ordains women as pastors or teachers above men is one that is in open defiance of the word of God (1 Tim 2:12). You cannot measure "success" by disobedience. If such practices are held at your church I would suggest you address the head pastor, elders, or governing body and plead with them to stay within God's order. Obviously if church vows are in place you do not want to be careless or hasty in leaving, but if the church remains in defiance your actions are justified in moving on to a solid Bible-believing congregation.
