Do you see the Israel's departure from the Gaza Strip as a vital step toward peace, or a victory for Palestine (and their friends) who want to destroy Israel?
I see it as mostly the latter.

I see it as entirely the latter.

and, no, I don't think this is a sign of the apocalypse <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I see it as mostly the latter. Those who want to destroy Israel won't be satisfied with only occupying the Gaza Strip. Can we ever expect to see peace in this region? Wes

Wes, don't you know? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bash.gif" alt="" /> Israel will make a peace treaty <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/surrender.gif" alt="" /> with the Antichrist <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/threaddevil.gif" alt="" /> and then after 3 1/2 years it will be broken <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/takethat.gif" alt="" />. I know because I read it from Tim LaHaye <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/read.gif" alt="" />

John, I've personally felt like crying in sympathy more than once over all the troubles in Israel, I think it's sad that governments think that removing people from their homes is going to create peace. I personally am not a big fan of Herschel Hobbs and many of the things I understand him to have said, but the Baptist Faith & Message does have one point that I can definitely agree with, that we need to seek peace personally, nationally, and internationally by God and His Word. ------------------------------------------------------------ XVI. Peace and War It is the duty of Christians to seek peace with all men on principles of righteousness. In accordance with the spirit and teachings of Christ they should do all in their power to put an end to war. The true remedy for the war spirit is the gospel of our Lord. The supreme need of the world is the acceptance of His teachings in all the affairs of men and nations, and the practical application of His law of love. Christian people throughout the world should pray for the reign of the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 2:4; Matthew 5:9,38-48; 6:33; 26:52; Luke 22:36,38; Romans 12:18-19; 13:1-7; 14:19; Hebrews 12:14; James 4:1-2. ------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.sbc.net/bfm/bfm2000.asp#xvi-Bro. Luke P.S. I really liked the comment SemperReformanda made about reading Tim LaHaye, that was extremely funny.

I wonder what Jack van Impe will have to say about this... likely name off, in rapid succession, 42 references to verses in the Bible that predicted this exact event. By the way, did anybody hear of his conversion to Roman Catholicism? No, I am not kidding.

I see it as a victory for the Palestinians and all Arabs who will stop at nothing <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/takethat.gif" alt="" /> until Israel is pushed into the sea. “There is no palestine."

This is a very simplistic thread. I'm sure there are no Christian Palestinians. (and that is my very simplistic reply)... I'll spare you all my rant.
Everything is so clear cut.

I think it may be a good thing. Israel will have less to worry about with regards to protecting the settlers in Gaza, and also the Palestinians won't be able to demand more concessions with any perceived legitimacy for a good while.

John, IMHO this is victory for the Arabs, for the only peace Israel needs is the peace with God through Jesus Christ. We ought to pray ,the Lord will take away that veil from their eyes.
