In using The Highway main page search engine, this entry came up first when searching on tithing . Is it some type of googling error, or was it meant too.

That is definitely a "Google error". Searches done with "search the-highway.com" box checked should only give results of items found on The Highway and not anywhere else. Interesting.... scratchchin

Did you notice what the site said about the Trinity?

Or about Hell, or about his views on Universal Salvation......and many other things? The man is a raving heretic and qualifies as a cultist.

Jeff,

Are you still researching or made a change.

Now, the link still comes up, but right underneath it, the search engine tells you that their are no hits for 'Tithing' - asking you if you may mave mispelled it.

John,

No, I haven't done anything because as far as I know there isn't much I can do about such anomalies. In fact, this is the first time I've seen something like this happen. If I should try and contact the Google people, I'm not sure they would do anything about it given the size and complexity of that organization.

Jeff,

The link is not really an "anomaly", but rather a "Sponsored Link" associated in Google's mind, at the instigation of the author of that link, with the word "tithing". It stands out in a "Highway search" for that term, because there are apparently no actual matches of "tithing". But if you search "tithe", you will also see the "Sponsored Link" at the top of the list. If you place either of the terms "tithing/tithe" in a "WWW search", the link is still there, at the top. You will notice the term "Sponsored Link" at the right margin of the result page. You will see it if you Google-search that term from any site. So the answer to John_C's original question, "was it meant to (be there)", is "Yes--but not by The Highway!"

What to do? I have not seen the term before today, but a little research should give you a way to wipe this and other unwanted links out. One solution, apparently, is to place:

rel="nofollow"

within the link, but that may not be an official or permanent solution. You will need to do more research on "Sponsored Links".

Paul,

Actually, it is in fact an anomaly! There is a configuration option with this Google Search feature where you can either opt in or out of having "Sponsored Links". My immediate thought, when setting up the Google Search was that it would not be something to have because the "boys" at Google surely don't have a clue what Biblical Christianity is, never mind biblical Calvinism. So, there would have been a rash of links for sites which are antithetical to The Highway.

Soooooo, how this one link managed to sneak through is puzzling. Hopefully, most would not associate The Highway with this other site.

Not to change the subject--BUT--This man IS a raving heretic. Actually it is somwhat amusing how far a person can go and still qualify HIMSELF as a Christian.
