R.C.'s use this passage as a basis for praying to saints or for saints to intercede on our behalf. Can someone help me out on this? It seems to me presumptuous to assume for sure who is and who isn't in heaven but regardless how are they answered on this point. Thanx in advance.

Knowfear,
This is simply another example of Scripture twisting by the RCC to try and justify one of their pagan traditions. For the most part the "saints" of the RCC are merely old pagan gods camouflaged in deceit.
It is fact that the Scripture presents all true believers as saints. It is fact that all true believers, while living, pray. It is also Scripture fact that our God answers the prayers of His children (elected saints) according to the wisdom of His will.
This perversion of Scripture by the RCC opens the idolatrous door wide for them to bow and pray to their discusting images and relics.
I do not know of a single reformed commentary on Rev. 5:8 that even suggests that we may "pray to or through the saints". Rather, we are to pray for our brothers/sisters and serve them, by God's grace, while we live on this corrupted earth.

Yes I agree. I just needed validation. :-)
Interesting tho that Paul never in all his epistles mentions praying to or asking intercession from Mary when R.C's make so much of her; and add any dead saint for that matter. How do they know for sure some of these individuals are even in heaven let alone pray to them. Seems highly presumptuous to me. Interesting that they go to Revelation and use that passage in a book so full of symbolism etc. ISTM a grasping at straws to support yet another faulty doctrine. Thanx.

Hi Knowfear , i think your RC freinds are doing a lot of reading into the text here. All it says is that there are prayers of saints. This doesnt support their blasphemous claims (Christ is our mediator) one bit seeing as the bible says Colossians 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Notice that. TO THE SAINTS WHICH ARE. They exist, we are saints. There is many other scriptures to support this. The real question to be askes about rev 5.8 is - who are the saints? ask your freind to show you from the bible that all saints are dead etc and im sure you will give your freind a proble. like all falshoods regarding biblical heresies, large things are built on such small foundations. That verse proves nothing.
Hope that helps a bit!
